Glen Jones, Teacher [AMI Elementary Certification]

Glen Jones was born in Tallahassee, Florida in the spring of 1969. He grew up in Ocean Springs, Mississippi and moved to the Twin Cities as a young adult in the late eighties.  Glen is an experienced elementary teacher with a broad range of interests. He came to Oak Hill in August of 1997 to found the school’s first 9-12 classroom. He completed his AMI elementary training in Milwaukee, Wisconsin a year earlier. 

As an undergraduate at the University of Minnesota, Glen majored in both History and Anthropology. He continues archeological fieldwork in Central America during his summers off. From his daily duties to directing large-scale school-wide performances, Glen enjoys the many “hats” teaching offers. His other interests include composing music and performing with his band, skateboarding, and photography.

Amanda Cade, Teacher [AMI Elementary Certification]

The Oak Hill community thought highly enough of Amanda to sponsor her to take the AMI training course over the last three summers. Amanda is a graduate of Morningside College in Iowa with a degree in Music and has done graduate work at the University of Minnesota. Amanda completed her Master's degree this summer at Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland. Over the past two years, she has been living in Kentucky with her husband but spending the summers in Minnesota attending the elementary training course given here at Oak Hill.
