John Albright, Teacher [AMI Elementary Certification]

Mr. Albright was appointed to his two-year term as Staff Representative to the board in 2004. John joined Oak Hill in 1999 as an assistant in Upper Elementary.  In 2001 he developed the Oak Hill Montessori junior high curriculum, and founded the first Adolescent Community class in 2002. John is a teacher, writer, historian, husband and parent.

John has an Elementary Certificate from the Association Montessori Internationale (Washington Montessori Institute at Loyola, 1999). He has also earned a Masters (Luther Seminary, 1994) and a Ph.D. (Vanderbilt University, 2004) in the Historical Study of Christianity. His greatest accomplishment at Oak Hill thus far has been the recent graduation of the school’s first class of eighth graders. John has one child, Ezra who attended the Infant and Toddler Communities and joined Children’s House in 2004.

Sarah Plumb, Teacher

Sarah Plumb began work at Oak Hill in 2002 and has since filled several roles here in the school, ranging from Elementary After School Coordinator to Administrative Assistant.  She began working part-time with the Junior High in 2003 in an assistant role, and became a full-time teacher in the Junior High in 2006. 

Sarah has a B.A. in Biology (University of CA, Santa Cruz) and a M.Ed. in Science Education (University of MN).  She took the 2008-09 school year off to pursue work on a doctoral degree in Science Education at the University of Minnesota. 

Sarah brings a love of mathematics, science, and engineering along with a profound love of nature to her teaching.  Her favorite past-times include reading, playing with her dog, and traveling. 

Sarah has one child, Maia, who attended the Toddler Community and Children’s House here at Oak Hill. Maia is currently enrolled in Lower Elementary.
