After School Enrichment

After-School enrichment activities are provided to enhance our students’ experience at Oak Hill. We have several opportunities for children at the elementary and junior high level. If your child is contracted to be in the School’s after-school childcare program (ELAS) and you sign him/her up for the after-school activities listed below you will not be charged for the ELAS program during the time that the student is enrolled in an activity.

Art: Drawing, Painting and Print Making for the serious art student

Monday 3-5pm from September 22 through December 8

Open to students grade 4-8, Join OHM Art Resource Director, Rene Block, as we explore the areas of drawing, painting and printmaking using a variety of media and subjects. Students will experience new and old techniques, refining skills and working on several long term projects. It will be our goal to put together a small art show for family and friends at the end of the class. Snack will be provided.

When: Monday from 3-5pm

Game Club

Wednesday 3-5:15pm from September 12 through May 28

Begin the new school year with a brand new session of Game Club! Upper Elementary teacher, Glen Jones, ensures two hours of gaming fun every Wednesday. Due to the high demand and interest in this Club you'll want to get your registration in early! The cost for this fantastic opportunity includes a hearty, healthy snack and additional gaming supplies.

Piano Lessons

Megan Flod (UEI Assistant) will offer private piano lessons beginning on September 30. She has openings beginning at 3:30pm. The lessons will be offered in half-hour increments. Please call the office at 651-484-8242 if you are interested in a time slot.

Soccer Skills

Grades: 1-3 and 4-8 (Two groups will run simultaneously)

National Sports Center Soccer Academy is coming to OHM! Join the Sports Center instructors for this great opportunity. The sessions are geared toward the beginner and intermediate player. Players will learn basic soccer skills along with intricate high-level soccer footskills, and goal keeping skills. Snack will be provided.

When: Tuesdays from 3-5pm

Spanish

Grades: Children's House

OHM Spanish teahcer, Gema Nelson, offers an opportunity for your child to practice what he/she is learning. They will review and practice vocabulary through Spanish songs, chants, games, crafts and puppets. The Tuesday group will go through a new unit that Gema is developing. The Thursday group will learn and review colors, fruits, days of the week, feelings and other words that are in the book, "Una oruga muy hambrienta," ( A Very Hungry Caterpilllar). Don't wait to sign up as these fill quickly! Gema will offer another session in the Spring.  Children register for either the Tuesday or Thursday session. A snack from a Spanish speaking country will be provided each time.
