Moving Ahead with Upgrades to OHM's Outdoor
Environment
Kudos to Oak Hill parent John Kalan and his crew for the bobcat work
they did last week on our new property. This involved:
-
Removing the large mugo pine roots and
concrete pieces by the future garden area and leveling this area
with a gradual slope
-
Removing the trees and bushes to clear the
northern property line for chain link fence installation and
planting of lilac bushes
-
Grading the northern property line so there is
a more level base for the chain link fence installation
Our short-term goal is to fence the back half of the property so it can
be used by the children as a playfield and community gardening area. A
few weeks ago, per the request from the City of Shoreview we completed
the installation of a 6’ tall wooden privacy fence between our land and
the neighbor to the north. Now that the bobcat work is completed, we
will have a 6’ chain link fence installed in the next few weeks. A
chain link fence will also be installed to separate the rental property
(green house and garages) from the playfield and community garden area.
Once the fence installation is completed, the children will be able to
use the grassy playfield this spring. You may notice a new dirt pile on
our property. This is a temporary pile and, while the children are on
summer break, the dirt will be spread to make the playfield more level
and the grass will be reseeded. |
