Outdoor Learn & Play Environment

The
Outdoor Environment Project, a natural extension of the classroom to
the outdoors, began two years ago as a staff-directed effort and has moved
forward as one of the objectives of the Rooted & Growing Strategic Plan. It
is estimated that $125,000 will allow completion of the full scope of the
Master Plan. Thanks to the generous outpouring of financial support from the Oak Hill
Community, beginning with the 2005 Spring Auction, this vision is on its way
to becoming a reality! As of August 1 $48,000 has been pledged specifically
toward this project. All money received for the Outdoor Environment will be
used only for this purpose. Enhancements to the OHM Outdoor Environment will
continue to take shape as funds become available and final designs are
approved.
The Outdoor Environment Plan Implementation (OEPI) Committee was created to ensure that each element of the plan meets project objectives as determined by the OHM Staff. The work of the OEPI Committee will continue through the upcoming school year and into the following one. The committee will keep you updated on the progress of this exciting project. Your participation, feedback and questions are always welcome!
As the saying goes, mountains are moved one scoop at a time by many, many hands. We invite and encourage everyone to become involved in this community effort. There are many ways you can participate in the Outdoor Environment Project: volunteer your time/talents, donate items/money, connect OHM with discount suppliers/resources, provide feedback and suggestions. Each gift of your input, time, materials, money—no matter how large or how small—brings us closer to making this vision a reality for our children!
