Committees

Acorns to Archivers: Julie Marko

The focus of this group is fun, camaraderie, and creativity. Using scrapbooking methods, this works together to record our school’s memories with a creative and artistic flourish.

Alumni Relations: Chairperson wanted (Currently in formation - contact OHMPA president with your great ideas)

As our school grows, so does the list of people who have contributed to its success over the years.  To make sure our alumni are able to stay connected to their Oak Hill roots, we need volunteers to maintain a database. This committee will also ensure that alumni receive appropriate information about upcoming events (such as the Auction) and publications (such as Presentations).

Auction: Paul and Sarah Hamel

So many opportunities, so little time—the auction need lots of volunteers to ensure the success of this vital and exciting “fun”-raising event.  The auction committee needs people to develop business solicitations, coordinate family donations, prepare invitations, plan the venue, prepare a catalog, and many other things.

Cultural Awareness: Marina Brockway /  Co-chair needed

To foster awareness, appreciation, understanding, and respect of all the heritages represented within our school and to celebrate the richness this diversity brings to our daily lives, this committee plans enriching events for all who share in our school community.

Garden Club: Currently Inactive (contact OHMPA president if interested in reviving this group)

A semi-social group, the Garden Club ensures the beauty of our outdoor environment.  The club needs many volunteers to maintain the already established gardens and to plan for new projects as our school continues to enhance its outdoor learning areas. In addition, the group hosts speakers, plant exchanges, or other events as interests.

Guys Club: Currently Inactive (contact OHMPA president if interested in reviving this group)

The goal of this committee is to encourage the active involvement of guys in the OHM community by organizing events for Oak Hill’s guys and by increasing the participation of the men of our community in all school events.

Helping Hands: Cindy Glenn

This “go to” group helps school staff and administration when various miscellaneous volunteers are needed.  Volunteer here and you’ll directly support the work of our school by helping with school events/projects such as picture day and hearing and vision screening day.

Hospitality: Joy Alizadeh and Michelle Jeppesen

Our hospitality volunteers create the foundation for community at Oak Hill.  The group of 3 co-chairs will share the responsibilities of maintaining hospitality supplies and facilitating initial event planning meetings and contacting volunteers (based on interests indicated on volunteer forms) to help with various events.

Parent Education: Chair / Co-chair needed

After assessing  the parent community education needs, this committee creates opportunities for parents to gain relevant parenting/Montessori education information by presenting speakers and hosting book discussions.

Welcoming: Martha Rosenquist and Sue Miller

Remember how it felt when your family first came to Oak Hill--so many traditions to learn about like the Winter Solstice Celebration and the Spring Auction.  This committee brings together current and new families so that our community continues to thrive.

Yearbook: Elizabeth Lewen and Wyatt Stahl

Working throughout the year to gather photos and memories for the yearbook, this committee creates a publication that is treasured  by families for years to come.  The committee needs people from all levels interested in photography, graphic design, and organizing publications.
