Ice Cream Social Late August This school-wide event for Oak Hill families and staff at Snail Lake Park & Playground offers children and parents alike a chance to socialize prior to the start of school.
Back to School Night Early September Parents are welcomed back to school by staff and invited into their child's classroom to learn about the year ahead.
Outdoor Clean-up Day and Community Dinner Mid September Time to tidy up the school grounds as school gets underway. Get to know fellow Oak Hill families while tackling the most pressing outdoor maintenance tasks. After an afternoon of outdoor work, we'll enjoy a community dinner.
Journey & Discovery Fall (Biennially) Starting with a "Silent Journey," parents observe the materials and space at each classroom level. Activities include an opportunity to learn from the teachers and have "hands on" time with the classroom materials.
Amazing Graze Fall & Spring Conferences During conferences, as a way of thanking the staff for all their efforts on behalf of our children, parents provide an eclectic feast of food and beverages enabling staff to "graze" their way through hectic conference days.
Grandparents Day / Book Fair Wednesday before Thanksgiving Grandparents (and special guests) are invited to visit our beautiful school and observe children working in the Montessori environment. When not observing in the classrooms, guests can browse the book fair and enjoy social time.
Winter Solstice Friday before Winter Break A fun and festive morning for families, staff and special guests before Winter Break. Each family brings something to sharea traditional family favorite food or a dish representative of their heritage.
Junior High Carnival A chilly Saturday in January The Junior High Carnival is for children of all ages to enjoy a delightful array of games where everyone can be a winner. The Carnival also helps Junior High students raise funds for trips that further enhance their educational experience.
Spring Auction Saturday in early Spring Mark your calendars for this gala event featuring live and silent auction items provided by parents, friends and Oak Hill students.
Cultural Outreach Fair Fall or Spring Each year we strive to have one or more events to learn more about the cultures and traditions of our Oak Hill families. In the past few years we've enjoyed a Cultural Fair, a Harvest Pot Luck, storytelling, and a panel discussion - events are determined by the Cultural Outreach committee.
Year-End Appreciation Picnic Late May / Early June This picnic is to show our appreciation to our parents, volunteers and staff. It is also one last chance for families and staff to socialize before the long Summer Break.
Shoreview Parade Late July

The parade celebrates life in Shoreview and welcomes participation by the community. This is a great way for Oak Hill to let everyone in Shoreview know what a vibrant and lively school we have.

See the online calendar for a complete list of Oak Hill events that are level-specific such as the Children's House Fly-Up Ceremony, Lower Elementary Open House, Upper Elementary Science Fair, and Junior High Poetry Slam

Parent Education Opportunities

Parent education opportunities bring adults together to learn more about topics such as Montessori practices, parenting and child development. For evening events, childcare is usually available for students at the Casa level and beyond.
